Teaching Fields: 

Dr. Ericka H. Parra is a professor of Spanish at the Modern and Classical Languages Department. She teaches Spanish language, literature and culture courses. In addition, she serves as an Ambassador for Faculty Experiential Learning (2024-2026). She also mentors students pursuing research interests.

Her pedagogical interests include Care-Based and Value-Creating Pedagogy as transformative approaches to teaching Spanish, as well as the application of Experiential Learning in both face-to-face and online settings. Dr. Parra has published on Latin American women writers, teaching culture, and global competencies in Encuentros, Istmo, Brujula, Olhar, and The Latinamericanist.
