I am interested in exploring how children's literature can serve as an effective pedagogical tool in college settings to introduce students to complex and sensitive topics. By engaging with stories that address themes such as cultural identity, social justice, and human rights, students can develop critical thinking and empathy in a developmentally accessible way. This approach not only facilitates meaningful discussions about difficult issues but also prepares students to engage thoughtfully with the diverse perspectives they will encounter in world literature courses that span multiple cultures. My goal is to integrate children's literature into the curriculum as a bridge to understanding global narratives, fostering an inclusive and reflective learning environment.
