Each residence hall is locked 24 hours a day. Students must use their ID card to gain access to the residence hall in which they are assigned and a room key to access their room. Guests must make contact with the resident they wish to visit, and the resident must meet the guest at the main lobby to escort them in. Parents and siblings must follow the check in process as would any other guest. All doors except the primary lobby entrance(s) are alarmed on a 24-hour basis in order to control access to the residence hall. Additionally, residence hall staff members and University Police Officers make rounds throughout the building on a regular basis.

Only residents of a residence hall have card access to that building.

If it still does not work, email housing@valdosta.edu and we will add the correct access.

Housing does not issue temporary access cards. You need to visit the 1 Card office to get a new one for your own safety.

Contact 福利小视频 Police by calling their emergency number 229-259-5555. In addition, if there is an incident within the residence hall, find a staff member (Residence Hall Director, HEART worker, or RA) of that hall to report the emergency.

There is a staff member on call 24 hours/day and 365 days a year for emergency situations.

Each Residence Hall Director has office hours during which he/she works in the hall office and is available for residents to stop by. Keep in mind RHDs are students like you and do attend class during certain times. Please check with your Residence Hall Director for office hours.
