Mellon Grant Internships

The Mellon Grant Internship offers participating students the opportunity to earn a $5,000 scholarship for completing internships that enhance the quality of life in our region. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, social service agencies, schools, historical societies, museums, and local governments, students will gain meaningful professional experience while contributing to community development.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a declared Women’s & Gender Studies (WGST) Minor
  • Must have taken or be registered to take WGST 3000 or WGST 3200

Internship Expectations:

  • Complete 150 clock hours at the approved internship site
  • Maintain daily journaling reflecting on internship experiences
  • Submit a research paper related to the internship and WGST focus
  • Deliver a professional presentation at either the Fall Expo or the Spring Undergraduate Symposium, highlighting the Mellon Internship experience
